Assess: Pirates of the Caribbean

1. Although I personally couldn't understand it, not speaking Mandarin Chinese, I absolutely adored the use of space and technology in order to achieve the effects seen.  Occasionally it would feel slightly out of sync, but that might have just been the riders beforehand. I thought it was really grand and the usage of animatronics went rather well, however I do wish there had been more practical effects used to really simulate the voyage, aside from simply the cannonball fire in the battle sequence. Say for example a small bit of mist whenever large waves appeared, but the attention to the non projected characters and scenes was fantastic.

2. Connection wise, I think it really spoke to my inner child, it got me excited and immersed inside the world of the ride, constantly waiting to see what would happen next. The special effects and usage of space really helped to cement the idea that we were only along for the journey.

3. A different medium that I could see this functioning well with is that of VR, to really help cement the idea of a personal connection to Jack Sparrow. Maybe a game in which you have to follow the same path as the ride, but with certain areas expanded further. Or, you could implement the VR headset on a ride, adding some common 4D effects like occasional splashes of water and the like, to really really push the immersing effect. It would also give a nice point of view experience that you could further expand on, with certain falls being equivalent to the tilting downward of the main machine.
